By law, no one may work in the state of Maryland until they are at least 14 years of age. Due to the additional restrictions placed on minors regarding work hours, we prefer our employees to be at least 16 years of age. This does not mean that we won't hire someone younger, but simply that they must prove to have exemplary potential.

While OSM is a fun work experience, we do demand discipline and dedication from our employees. Too often applicants think that work at a snowball stand is easy, only to be startled by the realities of the job. It requires mental and physical dedication, as there are many intricacies to learn, and our employees remain on their feet for hours at a time. Still, for those who thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment, OSM provides a great work experience. Many of our employees have stayed for years, finding the nature of the job and the camaraderie among staff and management enjoyable and rewarding. We like to think of our employees as members of our extended family, and we look for kind, intelligent, and hard-working people to further enrich the group.
